Son of Hockey Olympian Gagan Ajit Singh Wins KEPOTA Title; Third Generation Star Carves His Own Niche in Golf
Chandigarh, July 7 (WISHAVWARTA);- Carrying proudly aloft the banner of family’s excellent sporting legacy, young golfer Zorawar Singh Chahal has bagged the top spot in the IGU North Zone Feeder event – 6 held at KEPOTA (Kasauli Ex Servicemen’s Professional Training Academy), Ambala.
The 10 year old upcoming star on the golfing firmament is the son of Hockey Olympian and Former India Skipper presently serving as SSP Fazilka Gagan Ajit Singh and is a student of 5th standard at Strawberry Fields High School.
This marvellous achievement is a continuation of the long journey of sporting traditions deeply embedded in the genes of this young lad who is well on course to become third generation sports icon.
Sports flows like blood in the veins of Zorawar’s family, hailing from Ferozepur, as is quite evident from his Grandfather Ajit Singh representing India in Hockey along his (Grandfather’s) brother Harmik Singh who also captained the National Squad.
Even at such a tender age, Zorawar has carved out a niche for himself in the sporting arena by winning The Golf Experts tournament in February 2021 held at the CGC, Shubhankar Sharma Junior Golf Event in 2024, The SM Golf Club Tournament in 2025, Emerging Runners Up in IGU Junior North Zone tournament at Patiala in 2026 besides being Numero Uno in US Kids Junior Championships 4 times.
Going by the pace that Zorawar is achieving milestone upon milestone, he surely has it in him to become a sporting legend justifying his par excellence pedigree.
