YAMS Training Day 2 – Report : Conducted at Roopnagar


Roopnagar, 3 February 2026 (WISHAVWARTA):- Under the YUVA Aapda Mitra Scheme, Day 2 of the National Disaster Management and Preparedness Programme was successfully conducted at Roopnagar with the participation of 21 PB Battalion NCC cadets.
The day began with group-wise HVRC (Hazard, Vulnerability, Risk and Capacity) presentations, where cadets showcased their hazard mapping of the campus area and demonstrated understanding of disaster preparedness. Col. R. K. Chauhan joined the session and interacted with the cadets through an engaging Q&A, assessing their knowledge and providing practical insights.
Following this, officials from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) conducted a technical demonstration session, introducing cadets to rescue boats, scuba diving equipment, and other disaster response tools. A token of appreciation was presented to the SDRF officials immediately after their session for their valuable contribution.
Post-lunch, cadets attended a session on Earthquake Preparedness and Response, followed by practical training on lifting and moving injured persons. The day concluded with an Earthquake Mock Drill, where cadets actively practiced evacuation procedures and casualty management.
Overall, Day 2 of the programme strengthened cadets’ practical understanding of disaster response and their role as first responders at the community level.
