BIG NEWS: MHA ANNOUNCES NAMES OF PUNJAB POLICE OFFICIALS FOR GM, PMDS, MMS AWARDS

CHANDIGARH, August 14 (WISHAVWARTA):- Recognising the outstanding services of the Punjab Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (GOI), on the eve of 78th Independence Day announced the names of the Punjab Police officers/officials, to be awarded Medal for Gallantry (GM), President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PMDS) and Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS).
The team of Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) including Assitant Inspector General (AIG) Sandeep Goel, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bikramjit Singh Brar, DSP Rajan Parminder Singh, Inspector Pushvinder Singh, SI Jaspreet Singh, SI Gurpreet Singh and Constable Sukhraj Singh have been awarded Medal for Gallantry.
While, an IPS officer Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Cyber Crime V Neeraja and a PPS officer AIG Flying Squad Vigilance Bureau Manmohan Kumar to be conferred with President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
Similarly, three PPS officers including Commandant 3rd Commando Battalion Jagwinder Singh, DSP Crime Chandigarh Gurbakshish Singh Mann, DSP SPU Sanjeev Kumar are among 13 officers/officials who have been selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service. The remaining officials include Inspector Amarbir Singh, Inspector Sukhbir Singh, Inspector Narinder Kumar, SI Daljit Singh, SI Ranjot Singh, SI Balbir Singh, SI Ravinder Singh, SI Naresh Kumar, ASI Mohammed Ramzan and ASI Gurdev Singh.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav, while congratulating the awardees, expressed gratitude to the Central Government and State Government for recognizing the services of these officers and boosting the morale of the entire Punjab Police force. He said that such recognition plays a significant role in encouraging the Police force to work with more dedication and devotion, which is pivotal in a border state having manifold security challenges.
