Tamil Nadu CM Vijay calls for life rooted in dharma, love, virtue on Krishna Jayanthi
Chennai, Sep 4 (IANS/WISHAVWARTA) On the occasion of Krishna Jayanthi on Friday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay extended his wishes and urged all to follow the teachings of Sri Krishna and uphold righteousness, duty and faith.
Taking to X, formerly called Twitter, Vijay said embracing the path of dharma can help build a world where love, virtue and noble values flourish.
His tweet read: “On this Krishna Jayanthi festival, when all homes and hearts are filled with joy, I extend my heartfelt best wishes to everyone.”
“Following the teachings of Sri Krishna—that righteousness will triumph over injustice, that one must unflinchingly perform one’s duty in any circumstance, and that life’s journey must be undertaken with mental fortitude and faith along the path of dharma—we will create a good world where love and virtue flourish alongside noble principles of living. #CMJosephVijay,” he added.
Vijay, who is a former actor, is currently serving as the ninth chief minister of Tamil Nadu since May 2026. He is the founder and president of the political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Vijay made his debut as a leading man in Naalaiya Theerpu in 1992, directed by his father S. A. Chandrasekhar. He rose to fame with romance films such as Poove Unakkaga, Love Today, Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, Thullatha Manamum Thullum, Kushi, Priyamaanavale, Friends before transitioning into an action star with Thirumalai, Ghilli, Madhurey, Thirupaachi and Pokkiri.
His major commercial successes include Thuppakki, Kaththi, Theri, Mersal, Sarkar, Bigil, Master, Leo and The Greatest of All Time.
Vijay’s latest release is Jana Nayagan, which marks his ultimate movie. A political action drama film directed by H. Vinoth. The film also starsBobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju in the lead role alongside Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani.
A partial remake of the 2023 Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari, as per the synopsis, the film follows a former Tamil Nadu Police Inspector who raises the daughter of a deceased friend and encourages her to overcome childhood trauma and pursue a career in the Indian Army. His efforts draw him into a confrontation with corrupt individuals, whose actions threaten democratic institutions.
