Special Checking Drive Conducted in Sub Division City-1 Mohali Area Ahead of Elections
SAS Nagar, December 14, 2025 (WISHAVWARTA):- In view of the Panchayat Samiti elections, a special checking drive was carried out on December 13, 2025, in the area of Sub Division City-1 Mohali under the supervision of SP City Mohali, Sh. Dilpreet Singh, IPS, to ensure maintenance of law and order and to instil a sense of security among the public.
During the drive, nakas were laid at 3B2 Market and other prominent markets, where suspicious persons and vehicles were thoroughly checked. The action aimed at preventing any untoward incident and ensuring peaceful conduct of the electoral process.
As part of the drive, 21 traffic challans were issued, three cars and three two-wheelers were impounded, and preventive action was taken against four persons, who were rounded up under Section 173 of the BNSS.
Additionally, a dope test was conducted on one suspicious person. On the basis of the test and subsequent proceedings, FIR No. 297 dated 13-12-2025 under Sections 27/61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Phase-1 against Yashpal, son of Deshraj, resident of #5584-A, Sector-56, Chandigarh.
SP City Mohali Sh. Dilpreet Singh, IPS, stated that such special checking drives will continue in the coming days also, and warned that any attempt to disturb law and order will be dealt with strictly as per law. He was accompanied by DSP City-1 Prithvi Singh Chahal and other Station House Officers.
