Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan Chairs Crucial Meeting to Welcome ‘Shukrana Yatra’ in Kotkapura
Chandigarh, May 6, 2026 (WISHAVWARTA);- Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan today held a high-level meeting with party office bearers, block presidents, sarpanches, and leaders of various wings at Kotkapura to finalize arrangements for the upcoming ‘Shukrana Yatra’.
The meeting focused on assigning key responsibilities to ensure a grand welcome for the ‘Shukrana Yatra’, who is scheduled to arrive in Kotkapura on May 7, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Sandhwan highlighted the significance of the ‘Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Bill 2026’. He stated that the Mann Government’s initiative has now transitioned into a historic law, significantly strengthening the legal framework to protect the sanctity and respect of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
“This Yatra is a journey of gratitude and joy for this landmark legislation,” said S. Sandhwan. The ‘Shukrana Yatra’ commenced from Anandpur Sahib on May 6 and is set to conclude at Fatehgarh Sahib on May 9.
The Speaker extended a heartfelt appeal to all Panch-Sarpanches, religious figures, social associations, and party workers to gather in large numbers at the Kotkapura Mandi Gate (Bathinda Road) at 4:00 PM on May 7 to mark this historic occasion.
The meeting saw the presence of prominent figures including Manpreet Singh Mani Dhaliwal, Kamal Mann Australia, Mihar Singh Chani (Block President), Master Kuldeep Singh, Harvinder Singh (Block President), Amrik Singh (Sarpanch Dago Rumana), Sukhwant Singh Numberdar (Youth Leader), Gurdeep Sharma, Ladi Dhudi, Ravinder Goyal, Naresh Singla, Sukhdeep Singh Nathewala, Kuldeep Singh Maur (Social Media), Pradeep Singh Brar, Prince Bahl, and Ashwani Kumar, among others.
