Saravanan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar-starrer ‘Sattamum Needhiyum Season 2’ to premiere on October 23
Chennai, Oct 10 (IANS/WISHAVWARTA) The makers of director Balaji Selvaraj’s gripping courtroom drama ‘Sattamum Needhiyum’, have now announced that the next season of the web series, ‘Sattamum Needhiyum 2’, featuring actors Saravanan and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar in the lead, will premiere on October 23 this year.
The series, which has been directed by Balaji Selvaraj and produced by Sasikala Prabhakaran under the banner of 18 Creators, is to be streamed on the OTT platform Tamil Zee5.
Returning with a brand-new case, higher stakes, and deeper moral dilemmas, the series, sources say, will continue its compelling exploration of the justice system through a fresh and gripping chapter.
Sources in the know say that Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, whose fierce screen presence adds a powerful new dimension to the narrative, will be seen in a pivotal role in the new season. She will be seen alongside the talented Saravanan, who reprises his role at the heart of the story.
The first season followed Saravanan as he took on a shocking case triggered by a father’s self-immolation outside a courthouse after the abduction of his daughter. What initially appeared to be a straightforward investigation gradually unraveled into a complex web of power, influence, and hidden truths, testing his resolve in the pursuit of justice.
Building on the success of its debut season, ‘Sattamum Needhiyum Season 2’, sources claim, has raised the bar with a completely new case that will delve deeper into the grey areas of justice.
Moving beyond courtroom verdicts, the series will seek to explore how power, privilege, and personal choices often shape the path to truth. As fresh challenges emerge and the stakes grow higher, the season will examine the price individuals are willing to pay in their pursuit of justice, delivering a gripping legal drama that will be emotionally compelling and thought-provoking.
While staying true to the honest and grounded storytelling that defined the first season, the new chapter, they say, will promise a more intense, layered, and an enthralling experience.
