SAS Nagar, November 16 ( WISHAVWARTA )-The Punjab Equestrian Festival 2.0 concluded today at Palanpur, SAS Nagar, showcasing Punjab’s growing leadership in equestrian sports and its rich cultural heritage. Member of Parliament Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer graced the concluding ceremony and lauded the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for its steadfast commitment to the promotion of sports and sportspersons.

MP Meet Hayer said that the Punjab Equestrian Festival had long been a cherished dream of horse lovers, and the present government fulfilled this aspiration by making it an annual feature. He added that the government’s support in establishing a professional-level horse ring on Panchayat land in Palanpur stands as a major step toward strengthening equestrian sports in the region. He congratulated Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, District Administration SAS Nagar and organisers Harjinder Singh Khosa, Deepinder Singh Brar and Harman Singh Khaira for their devotion to promoting the sport. MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa, who also attended the ceremony, said that the Punjab Government has taken a leading role in conserving traditional sports and safeguarding the state’s vibrant heritage. He added that platforms like the Punjab Equestrian Festival are crucial in preparing young riders for national and international competitions.

MLA Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, Chairperson District Planning Committee SAS Nagar, Prabhjot Kaur, Information Commissioner Bhupinder Singh Bath and AAP Spokesperson Harsukhinder Singh Babbi Badal also visited the festival on its concluding day.

Nodal Officer Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary and SDM Kharar Mrs Divya P said that the festival featured a series of competitive events in which skilled riders from across the region showcased their talent.

In the Group-1 Open 90 cm category, Mayank riding Vazir clinched the top position, followed by Balraj on Red Rum in second, Sandeep on Akash in third, and Diya Sharma with Zaladel securing fourth place. In the Group-1 Open 90 cm Relay, the first position was taken by Krishnan Kotodian riding Thunder, while Mankirat Gill secured both second and third positions on Baaz and Sahiba respectively.

The Group-2 Open 75 cm event was won by Rudar Nehra on Ujala. Akshpreet Singh riding Fabio took second place, while the third position went to Mankirat Singh on American Faron, and fourth to Gurveer Sidhu riding Tiger. In the Group-3 Open 60 cm Relay, Sudip on Baaz achieved first place, followed by Zorawar on Dara in second, Divjot Kaur on Zola Dell in third, and Mankirat riding Victor finishing fourth.

In the Geoup-3 Open 60 cm event, the top spot was secured by Ugam Singh on Porus, with Rubayat riding Daina finishing second. The third place was taken by Inderbir Singh on Sherry, while Aslam Mohd. riding Messy came fourth.

The Dressage segment saw noteworthy performances. In Group-1 Dressage, the first position went to Diya Sharma, followed by Opender and Shivank in second and third place respectively, with Zoravar finishing fourth. Group-2 Dressage was topped by Divjot Kaur, with Rudra second and Rubayat third.
In Elementary Dressage, Jyoti riding Frank Height secured first position with 69.47%, followed by Yuvraj Singh Rathore on Garud with 67.84%. Third place went to Youngbir Singh riding Badal, while Jarmanmeet Singh on King secured fourth with 61.98%. In Ladies Dressage, Jyoti once again claimed first place with 75.58% on Frank Height, followed by Diya Sharma on Blue Blood and Mannat riding Yolanda.

In the Group-1 90 cm Show Jumping, Diya Sharma riding Zulla Del emerged victorious, followed by Jujharveer Singh on Hasena in second, Samarveer Singh on Tipu in third, and Rajpal Singh on Mustang in fourth. The Open Preliminary Dressage category was dominated by Jyoti, who secured first place on Frank Heights and third place on Blue Blood, while Yuvraj riding Garud stood second. Keshav on Vazir finished fourth.

The Pole Bending events saw Rajpal Singh (PPS) topping Group-1, Loveinder Singh (PPS) winning Group-2, and Suhirad (PPS) securing first position in Group-3. In the Team Lance competition, BSF took first place, followed by Indian Navy (White) and Indian Navy (Blue). The Individual Lance category was won by Ankit Kumar riding Bullet, with Mohit Kumar on My Special finishing second and Lakhwinder Singh on Vajra ending third.

In the Open Hacks category, Divjot Kaur riding Frank claimed first place. The Fall & Out events saw victories from Jujharveer Singh on Hasina in Group-1, Harvinder Singh on Red Cloud in Group-2, and Surid on Hasina in Group-3.
In the concluding Balc & Bucket events, Abhayuday secured first position in Group-1, followed by Samarpartap Singh topping Group-2, while Suhird claimed the top spot in Group-3.

Among others present including Prof Gurbakhsish Singh Antal, District Sports Officer Rupesh Begra and other officials.
