Once Akali Dal fought for the Panth, But now its fighting to protect the drug mafia: Aman Arora

Arora Warns – Do not obstruct action against the drug mafia; or face strict action

Why are Akali Dal workers going to the court? Do they not trust the law, Asks Baltej Pannu

Chandigarh, July 2 (WISHAVWARTA):-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President Aman Arora launched a sharp attack on Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal over the arrest of Bikram Majithia. Arora said that the Akali Dal, which once fought for the Panth and Punjab, is now fighting to protect the drug mafia. “This is extremely unfortunate,” he said.

Arora added that Sukhbir Badal is claiming that thousands of Akali Dal workers were stopped from attending Bikram Majithia’s court hearing. “I want to ask him, do you even have a thousand workers left in Punjab today?” Arora said. “During your ten-year rule, you turned Akali Dal into ‘Khaali Dal’ (Empty Party).”

Issuing a warning, Arora said that no leader should obstruct the government’s action against the drug mafia. “Strict action will be taken against all such individuals. The police and investigative agencies are doing their job. Arrests and cases are being pursued strictly according to the law,” he stated.

He further said that during the Akali-BJP government, these people looted Punjab and pushed the youth into addiction. “Today, Punjab is demanding justice for that betrayal, and the AAP government is working with full commitment to deliver justice to all those affected. We will bring every person involved in the drug business to justice,” Arora affirmed.

AAP leader Baltej Pannu questioned, “This is a matter of the court and the law. I do not understand why these Akali Dal members are trying to surround the court. Do they not trust the judicial system?”

He added, “If you trust the law and the courts, let the lawyers argue the case. It is the court that will decide whether the police will get further remand or not. Are you trying to pressure the judge by surrounding the court?”

Pannu said that Bikram Majithia’s defense is being presented in court by his lawyers. “On the other side, the Vigilance Bureau’s case is being argued by the government’s lawyer. Now it is for the court to decide based on evidence and arguments. Whatever decision the court gives must be accepted by all, because the functioning of the state and the country is governed by the rule of law,” he concluded.
