Neel Garg Rebukes Abhay Chautala: Terms His Statement Politically Driven and Baseless
Chandigarh, May 21 (WISHAVWARTA):- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior spokesperson Neel Garg rebuffed INLD leader Abhay Chautala’s recent statement, calling it a politically driven attempt to salvage his declining relevance in Haryana. Garg said that the country operates under the Constitution and rule of law, ensuring fairness for all and not at someone’s arbitrary whims.
Addressing the issue of water rights, Garg clarified that Punjab has never encroached on any state’s share of water. “We only aim to protect our rightful share and ensure no unjust diversion. Haryana had already used more than its allocated share until March 31, yet continued to demand additional water, which is neither fair nor justified,” he stated.
Citing a report from a prominent Punjabi daily, Garg highlighted the critical depletion of Punjab’s groundwater, with levels falling below 1,000 feet in some areas. “Punjab risks becoming a desert within a decade. To tackle this situation, CM Bhagwant Mann’s government has repaired canals, improved water channels, and ensured equitable water distribution to tail-end areas for the first time in decades,” he added.
Under Mann’s leadership, Punjab has ensured that farmers receive their fair share of water. Garg firmly stated that while Punjab respects Haryana’s water share, it will not tolerate any attempt to divert Punjab’s rightful share. “Not a single drop of Punjab’s water will be looted under CM Mann’s watch,” he declared.
Urging Chautala to refrain from baseless allegations, Garg said, “Chautala should focus on his political standing in Haryana instead of making unfounded claims against Punjab. It’s time to respect constitutional rights and prioritize genuine governance over political games.”
