MLA Kulwant Singh flags off 18th pilgrimage bus from Mohali

Mohali  April 3,2026 (WISHAVWARTA);-  In a continued effort to facilitate spiritual journeys for the masses, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh today flagged off the 18th bus from the Mohali constituency under the state government’s ambitious mukh mantri tirath yatra scheme. The departure of the bus, organized under the leadership of block president Kulwant Kaur Komal, marks another milestone in the local administration’s commitment to religious touris

Addressing the gathering, MLA Kulwant Singh emphasized that the aam aadmi party government, under the leadership of chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has not only honored its electoral guarantees but has surpassed expectations by addressing long-standing public grievances with permanent solutions. He noted that alongside such welfare initiatives, the pace of all round development in Punjab has gained unprecedented momentum.
While interacting the media, the MLA highlighted the immense enthusiasm among the public. He stated that daily, a large number of devotees from across Punjab are visiting sacred sites including Sri Darbar Sahib, Durgiana Mandir, Ram Tirath Valmiki Mandir, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Wagah Border. He further  said that the government has made level best arrangements for transportation, accommodation, and catering. He  said that every bus is accompanied by medical experts and professional guides to ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims.
He further said that as awareness raises, citizens are eagerly registering via booth-in-charges to secure their spot on future journeys.
MLA Kulwant Singh took the opportunity to expose criticisms from opposition leaders who have alleged “hooliganism” during these tours. He dismissed these claims as a “fabrication of lies,” asserting that opponents are resorting to baseless rhetoric because they lack a constructive agenda.
He also added that when devotees step into the sanctity of the golden temple or the valmiki mandir, they are overcome with profound reverence. To suggest misconduct at such holy sites or at a place of national sacrifice like Jallianwala Bagh is preposterous,” he remarked
Constituency coordinator and state awardee Phoolraj Singh resonated these sentiments, noting that the demand for the yatra remains high. He mentioned that the MLA personally monitors the scheme’s execution to ensure no devotee is left behind. Upon their return, pilgrims have been sharing heartening accounts of their experiences, expressing deep gratitude for the dignified manner in which the tours are conducted.
The event saw the presence of several prominent figures, including Surinder Singh Roda Sohana, Nambardar Harsangat Singh, Jagdish Singh, Jagtar Singh, Jaswinder Singh Pinka, Sukhdev Singh, Manohar Singh, and other local leaders.
