Vigilance FIR Reveals Unaccounted ₹540 Crore and Drug Money Laundering Behind Majithia’s Business Expansion: AAP Government Resolute, No Guilty Will Be Spared, Says Aman Arora

Chandigarh, June 26 (WISHAVWARTA):-AAP Punjab President Aman Arora today lauded the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, for its decisive action in the fight against drug abuse, which has plagued the state for years. He expressed satisfaction at the developments leading to the 7-day police remand of Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a vigilance case.

“Justice for Punjab’s three crore citizens, particularly families who have lost their children to the drug menace, has begun today,” Arora remarked, emphasizing the importance of this step.

The vigilance FIR exposes significant financial irregularities involving Bikram Singh Majithia, revealing ₹540 crore in unaccounted funds deposited into his companies. Of this, ₹161 crore was deposited into accounts without proper documentation or accountability, while ₹141 crore was funneled through fake shell companies in violation of national laws. The investigation further uncovers that these illicit funds were used to amass several hundred crores worth of properties, raising serious questions about the source of this wealth and its links to unlawful activities.

Arora stated that the unaccounted money was funneled into businesses through shell companies. “Was there a money-printing machine in Majithia’s residence? Where did this wealth come from?” he questioned.

The FIR highlights a concerning pattern of financial manipulation beginning in 2007, marked by the incorporation of several companies under suspicious circumstances. Notably, four companies were set up on a single day, April 9, 2009, with one more incorporated in January 2009 and another in July 2009. Additionally, six subsidiaries were created under these primary companies, suggesting a deliberate effort to establish a complex web of entities. This coordinated activity raises serious doubts about the legitimacy of these businesses and their potential role in laundering illicit funds.

Arora questioned how Majithia’s businesses grew exponentially within such a short span. He noted, “These aren’t the actions of legitimate business growth but a reflection of drug money being laundered into the economy.”

Aman Arora strongly criticized opposition parties for their apparent support of Bikram Singh Majithia, accusing them of complicity in Punjab’s drug crisis. He questioned former CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s FIR against Majithia in 2021, suggesting it might have been a mere election gimmick with no real intent for justice.

Aman Arora highlighted the BJP’s interference in the 2014 ED investigation against Majithia, noting that the then Deputy Director of ED, Niranjan Singh, who was leading the probe, was abruptly transferred. “This deliberate move stalled progress and shielded Majithia from accountability,” Arora stated, emphasizing the BJP’s role in derailing justice.

Furthermore, he called out the Akali Dal for betraying Sikh values, asserting that their tenure enabled the rampant drug trade that devastated countless lives in Punjab.

“It is clear from their statements that these parties are complicit. By supporting Majithia, they are equally guilty,” Arora asserted.

Arora said that Punjab’s vigilance team, armed with extensive financial evidence, presented its case in court, securing the 7-day remand. This marks a significant step in holding powerful individuals accountable for their role in Punjab’s drug crisis.

Arora added, “This is not just about Majithia; it’s about dismantling the entire nexus that destroyed countless families in Punjab. Under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, the Punjab Government is committed to eradicating drugs, regardless of the perpetrator’s status or political connections.”

Arora added, “We guarantee that no one, whether big or small, political or non-political, will be spared if found guilty of perpetuating Punjab’s drug problem. The state government and Punjab Police have initiated the process of delivering justice to families affected by the drug epidemic.”

He commended the vigilance department and Punjab Police for their diligent investigation and called this development a significant step toward fulfilling the government’s mission of making Punjab drug-free.

“Despite the challenges, the Punjab Government’s perseverance and commitment to justice are bringing out the truth. Let this serve as a warning to anyone who tries to destroy Punjab’s future,” Arora concluded.
