District Admin and Rapido’s joint Effort to revolutionise Voter Transport: Free Bike Taxi Rides and Voter Awareness Rally during General Elections 2024

SAS Nagar, May 27, 2024 (WISHAVWARTA):- In a resolute commitment to fortify the Nation’s democratic fabric, District Administartion Mohali in collaboration with Rapido, is launching “Sawaari Zimmedari Ki” initiative, in which Rapido to offer free bike taxi rides to voters on 01st June, 2024.
In continuation to this coordination, District Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Aashika Jain flags off a rally consisting of over 50 bike taxi captains commenced from the DC Office to raise an awareness rally to encourage voter participation on Monday.
Applauding the services offered by the Rapido on Poll Day, she said that on the day of polling, voters can avail free rides on the Rapido app using the code ‘VOTENOW’ to exercise their democratic right. The initiative aims to facilitate residents’ voting rights and ensure a more inclusive electoral process, said, deputy commissioner by adding that SAS Nagar District to focus more on the polling booths having less turnout during last lok sabha elections. There will be over 500 motor bikes to transport voters to booth and back home on that day, she further added.
Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain said, “We appreciate Rapido’s efforts to enhance the electoral process and ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their vote without worrying about transportation. We believe private-public partnerships like this can create a larger impact on society. The company’s decision to hold a rally in SAS Nagar during the 2024 General Elections is a praiseworthy step in encouraging voter awareness and participation.”
