DC Komal Mittal Spreads Diwali Cheer Among Girls at Jyoti Kanya Saroop Asra, Kharar
Distributes T-shirts, Lowers and Chocolates — Encourages the Girls to Pursue Education with Confidence
SAS Nagar, October 18 (WISHAVWARTA):- In a heartwarming gesture to mark the spirit of Diwali, Smt. Komal Mittal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-President, Indian Red Cross Society, District Branch, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, visited Jyoti Kanya Saroop Asra, Kharar, and distributed T-shirts and lowers among the girls residing there.
Accompanied by officials of the District Red Cross Society, the Deputy Commissioner was warmly welcomed by the girls, Incharge Dr. Harminder Singh, and the staff members of the institution. The girls greeted the Deputy Commissioner with smiles and festive enthusiasm, expressing joy at her visit.
On the occasion, daughter of DC Smt. Komal Mittal also distributed chocolates to the children and extended heartfelt Diwali wishes, encouraging them to celebrate the festival of lights with happiness and positivity. DC interacted with the girls, inquiring about their studies and well-being, and motivated them to continue their education with confidence and determination.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the District Administration and Red Cross Society are fully committed to supporting the welfare and rehabilitation of children and women in need. “Festivals like Diwali remind us to share joy with others and spread the message of compassion, care, and togetherness,” she added.
She appreciated the efforts of the institution for ensuring proper care, education, and nurturing environment for the girls and assured full cooperation from the district administration and Red Cross Society in future initiatives. District Red Cross Society, Harbans Singh was also present on this occasion.
