CM Bhagwant Singh Mann Addresses Financial Assistance Distribution Function Under Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna in Pathankot

PATHANKOT; 1st August 2026 (WISHAVWARTA);- Bhagwant Singh Mann Government on Saturday transferred monthly financial assistance to 35.5 lakh women under the Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, taking the total number of beneficiaries to 68.5 lakh. During a financial assistance distribution function under the scheme in Pathankot, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said women across Punjab are receiving ₹3,000 and ₹4,500 as three months’ instalments together under the scheme, while women receiving widow, disability and old-age pensions are also getting an additional ₹1,000 or ₹1,500 for the first time.

The Chief Minister said another five lakh women have registered under the scheme during the last seven days, taking the total registrations to 73.5 lakh, with registrations continuing across the state for eligible beneficiaries.

Sharing a few snippets from this gathering, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated on X: “To make the mothers and sisters of Punjab financially independent, we have fulfilled another important promise today. After transferring the honourarium to 33 lakh women on July 1, we have now credited the accounts of another 35.5 lakh women today. Sisters who submitted their forms later will also receive three months’ instalments together.”

“This is your rightful entitlement. From now on, you will not have to depend on anyone else to meet your own needs or those of your children. The Aam Aadmi Party delivers on what it promises and turns its commitments into reality. Inquilab Zindabad,” the post concluded.

Addressing the function, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said he had fulfilled all the promises and guarantees made to the people of the state. “Now, I have fulfilled my promise made to the mothers and sisters of the state. This is your money and you don’t need to ask anyone before spending it or using it. In July this year, I gave this bonanza to 33 lakh mothers and today 35.5 lakh more mothers are getting the money. Another five lakh women have registered under the scheme during the last seven days,” he said.

The Chief Minister recalled an interaction before the function. “A sister tied Rakhi to me while I was coming here and said that my brother will give me Shagun today. All the leaders of our party were common people, but I was made the Chief Minister by the people of the state. As I am interacting with you here, the money must have already been credited to the accounts of the beneficiaries,” he said.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that beneficiaries were already receiving notifications on their mobile phones confirming the transfer of funds. “I had directed the officers to ensure that the money is credited into the accounts of the beneficiaries. The notifications are already coming on the phones of the beneficiaries. I have fulfilled all the promises and guarantees that I had made to the people. I only say what can be done and nothing else,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that beneficiaries are free to use the financial assistance according to their own needs. “You can use this money for any need, whether it is to buy toys for your grandchildren, give Shagun or pay your fees. You can spend this money in any way you want. Today, 35.5 lakh more mothers are getting the same amount that came on July 1,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister said that from today onwards more than 73 lakh mothers and sisters would receive benefits under the scheme..“This is only a way to honour all my mothers and sisters and nothing else. Every Mother and sister of Punjab have received ₹3,000 as three months’ instalments together, while mothers and sisters belonging to the Scheduled Caste category have received ₹4,500 as three months’ instalments together for July, August and September,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that every eligible woman would receive the benefit under the scheme irrespective of when she completed her registration. “Whoever fills the form even now will get the money from July 1, 2026, so there is no need to worry about it because your brother is here to safeguard your interests. The funds are being transferred directly into bank accounts and women already receiving social security pensions will also be eligible. Around 97% of women in Punjab are expected to benefit under this scheme and our government has allotted ₹9,300 crore in the budget,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister said that the scheme was aimed at ensuring dignity and self-respect for women. “This scheme may not make women rich, but it will give dignity and self-respect to them. Women deserve the utmost respect because they are the source of life itself, and the blessings of mothers and sisters can help conquer every challenge in the world. Strengthening women’s financial autonomy is essential for improving household welfare, promoting gender equity and enhancing women’s participation in social and economic decision-making,” he said.

Senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia, “The Chief Minister has already fulfilled every promise made to the people of the state and this is no exception. Bhagwant Singh Mann is the most popular Chief Minister and is working tirelessly for the well-being of every section of society.”

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora, Dr Baljeet Kaur and Lal Chand Kataruchak, along with others present on the occasion, lauded the Chief Minister for the initiative aimed at ensuring dignity for women.

About Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna:

The Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna provides direct financial assistance to women across Punjab through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Under the scheme, every woman of Punjab receives ₹1,000 per month, while Scheduled Caste women receive ₹1,500 per month. In the current disbursement, every beneficiary receives ₹3,000 and Scheduled Caste beneficiaries receive ₹4,500 as three months’ instalments for July, August and September.

The assistance is credited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS), ensuring transparent transfers without intermediaries. Women receiving widow, disability or old-age pensions continue to receive those benefits separately, with the scheme serving as an additional layer of social security. Registrations remain open at Anganwadi Centres across the state, and newly verified applicants are included in subsequent disbursement rounds.
