Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann campaigned for the AAP candidate from Ludhiana Ashok Parashar Pappi in Jodhan on Tuesday. Mann said that from the enthusiasm of the people he can tell that the people of Punjab are ready to give the AAP another historic mandate. He said that he is getting an overwhelming response and support from everywhere he is going for the campaign. He said that the sound of the voting machine on June 1st will be like the last scream of Congress, BJP and Akali Dal in Punjab.
Addressing the people Mann said that his road show is full of people at this hour too, he can never repay the debt of this love. And on the other hand people literally count their fingers after shaking hands with the other politicians. He said that we are like you, we came from villages and government schools. I understand your pain and your problems. Mann said that he gave 43,000 government jobs in just two years, your sons and daughters are becoming sdo, patwari and officers without bribe or recommendation. He said that they used to ask share in your businesses, I only want to share the pain of 3 crore Punjabis.
CM Bhagwant Mann said that in Delhi, people have slogans like ’25 may, BJP gai’ and ‘BJP da bura haal, bahar aa gya Kejriwal’. He said that AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal will come to Punjab on May 16 and will meet the people here. He said that he will first go to Amritsar and pay obeisance at Darbar Sahib and Durgiana temple, then he will do a road show with me there. Mann said that 4 rounds of polls are done and the BJP is losing un every one of them.
Mann said that for the development of a state, everyone’s development is important, he wants the farmers, businessmen, labourers etc. everyone to be happy and they should get the worth of their work. He said that I am asking for votes on the basis of my work in Punjab in two years, in Delhi we are asking for votes in the name of our work of eight years, because we do the politics of work. It is a matter of great shame that Narendra Modi who was the prime minister for 10 years is asking for votes in the name of Manglasutra and religion. Mann said that the BJP does the politics of hatred and fear. He appealed to the people of Punjab to not let the BJP put its roots in Punjab. He said that Punjab is known for its communal harmony, we celebrate Gurpurabs, Eids and Navamis together.
Mann said that he is ecstatic to share that after June 4th, the AAP will be the biggest partner in the central government. 13 MPs of Punjab and the party is winning its seats in Delhi, Gujarat, Assam and Kurukshetra. 30-40 MPs of the AAP and no one will be able to stop any of Punjab’s funds.
Mann said that before the farmers used to get 8 hours of electricity, that too heavily interpreted, because dynast politicians don’t know anything about farming. But after forming the government, Mann called a meeting of officers and instructed them to give 11 hours of uninterrupted electricity to the farmers and that too in daytime so they can water their crops without any trouble. He said that farmers no longer needs generators. Apart from this, we have delivered canal water to 59 percent of the farms in Punjab. When I became the Chief Minister in March 2022, only 21 percent of the farms were getting canal water. He said that his government is building two new canals, one malwa canal and one from Dharkalan for the Doaba region which also has 206 Mwatt dam in it. By October, we will deliver canal water to 70 percent of the farms, after which about 6 lakh tube wells in Punjab will become useless. Then the government will save about 5000 to 6000 crore rupees. With that money, we will give Rs 1000 every month to our mothers and sisters.
CM Mann said that his government is delivering more than what they promised during the 2022 assembly elections. He said that he closed 16 toll plazas in Punjab and now it saves Punjabis about 60 lakhs daily. He said that in the closed toll plaza booths, Aam Aadmi clinics, verka booths and bathrooms will be opened, so that people can easily get these facilities on the road. He said that he is fighting for the right of Punjab in the Supreme Court, he is fighting against the dictatorial BJP and the centre, he is fighting against the governor, and he will keep fighting for the rights of the people of Punjab but he also urged the people to strengthen him by giving 13 more arms and voices.
Mann quipped that the alliance of the BJP and SAD is like the friendship of turtle and mouse, he said that no matter what these two are going to get each other killed. He said that today Sukhbir Badal is saying that the Shiromani Akali Dal is a regional party, a few weeks ago he was begging the BJP for an alliance. He said that leaders like Sukhbir Badal who studied in schools in the mountains can never understand the pain or needs of the common people.
He attacked Captain Amrinder Singh and said that during the Mughal Empire his family was with them, then they were with the British, after Akali Dal and Congress, now Captain is in BJP because BJP is ruling. He is with whoever is in power. Mann also cornered Ravneet Bittu and said that leaders like him are without a stand. He was living in the government house wrongfully and we just collected 1 crore 84 lakhs from him, now he is saying he’s sleeping in the BJP office. Don’t fall for these leaders and their theatrics again. They are only here to loot Punjab.
He said that a journalist asked me that such power and fame can get to anyone’s brain, how I stay grounded, I told him I was famous before coming to politics, I’m immune to fame, but I’m aware of my responsibility. He said that our freedom fighters laid their lives for this right to vote, use it wisely and responsibly. He said that the AAP government named Halwara airport in the name of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and Mohali airport after the name of Shaheed-e-azam Bhagat Singh. He said that after becoming the CM his first orders were to put photos of Bhagat Singh and Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the government offices.
AAP candidate for Ludhiana Ashok Parashar Pappi thanked the CM Mann for reaching among the people of Jodhan and he urged the people to support him so that together they can win this seat for CM Mann.
