Paramjit Singh Sarna Hails Jolly LLB 3 for Its Pro-Farmer Message
NEW DELHI, Sep 26 (WISHAVWARTA):- Delhi Akali chief Paramjit Singh Sarna, has praised the recently released Bollywood film Jolly LLB 3 for its pro-farmer storyline, describing it as a rare example of mainstream cinema highlighting agricultural issues in an unfavourable political climate.
Although the film was shot in Rajasthan, Sarna noted that its narrative appears deeply inspired by the year-long farmers’ agitation in Punjab, which reached its height during the COVID-19 pandemic. “The film reflects the struggles and aspirations of our farmers, bringing to the public eye the hardships they continue to endured in the 21st century,” he said.
Sarna lauded Bollywood’s willingness to embrace a farmer-friendly theme at a time when agricultural issues often struggle to find a sympathetic platform in popular media. He also highlighted the role of Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal in campaigning tirelessly for the resolution of Punjab’s chronic farm crisis, suggesting that the film’s thematic direction may be influenced by the sustained advocacy for farmers’ rights in the state and beyond.
“Jolly LLB 3 demonstrates that mainstream cinema can align with social justice and public interest themes without compromising on storytelling. Its pro-farmer plot is both timely and commendable,” Sarna added.
The film industry’s engagement with agricultural issues is being seen as a positive sign for raising awareness of rural distress, and Sarna expressed hope that such narratives would encourage further discourse on policy solutions for farmers’ long-standing challenges.
