OSD Sukhvir Singh Launches ₹4.78 Crore Development Projects in Dhuri

Dhuri Entry Gates to Emerge as the City’s New Landmark Identity
Dhuri, January 28 (WISHAVWARTA);- In a significant step towards the holistic development of Dhuri city and the strengthening of modern urban infrastructure, Chief Minister’s OSD, Sukhvir Singh, today inaugurated beautification and development projects worth ₹4.78 crore in the Dhuri constituency under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Addressing the gathering, OSD Sukhvir Singh said that the Punjab Government is giving special emphasis to both infrastructure development and city beautification to improve the overall urban environment. He added that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is personally monitoring the progress of all ongoing development works in the Dhuri constituency to ensure timely and quality execution.
He informed that development works worth approximately ₹47 lakh in Ward No. 18 and around ₹70 lakh in Ward No. 1 have been started. These works include installation of new block tiles and other key infrastructure upgrades to ensure better civic amenities and convenience for residents. He further stated that a permanent plan has already been prepared to address the sewerage issue in Ward No. 1 and the problem will be resolved on a permanent basis in the near future.
In addition, beautification projects worth approximately ₹3.61 crore at Dhuri’s major entry points were also inaugurated. OSD Sukhvir Singh said that around ₹1.90 crore will be spent on the beautification and upgradation of the main entry point from the Malerkotla side, while about ₹1.71 crore will be spent on the beautification and upgradation of the entry point from the Bagrian/Nabha side. These projects will provide an attractive, modern and welcoming appearance to the city entrances.
He said that interlocking tiles will be laid at kutcha areas near the entry gates and extensive plantation will be undertaken. In addition, road dividers, palm trees, decorative lighting, seating benches, sign boards, welcome boards and LED palm trees will be installed, giving Dhuri city a distinctive and vibrant identity for visitors and residents alike.
Sukhvir Singh further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is according top priority to urban development, strengthening of infrastructure and people-centric projects to ensure balanced, transparent and sustainable development across every city and village of the state.
On the occasion, Punjab Waqf Board Member Anwar Bhasaur, Director Small Industries Corporation Anil Mittal, Director Sugarfed Jaspal Bhullar, Pushpinder Sharma, Ramandeep Singh, Zila Parishad Member Rachhpal Singh Bhullar, Harjinder Singh Kanjhla, Amanjot Kaur, Rajiv Chowdhary, Ashwani Dhir, Sandeep Tayal, Gagan Jawanda, Virbhan, Ajaib Singh, Baljit Kaur, Sukhpal Singh, Rubal, Rupinder Bhullar, Dr. Kuljit Dhawan of Punjab Mandi Board, Harpreet Singh Mimansa, Advocate Happy Garg and a large number of residents from Wards No. 17, 18 and 1 were present.
