3rd MEGA PTM: GURMEET SINGH KHUDIAN ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO STAY IN PUNJAB, SEEKS TEACHERS’ SUPPORT

Chandigarh, October 22 (WISHAVWARTA):- With an aim to reverse the trend of brain drain in the state, Punjab Agricultural and Farmers Welfare Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian has urged school teachers to play pivotal role in convincing students to stay in the state after completing their secondary education.
“Punjab has everything to offer its youth,” he said, while encouraging students to explore opportunities within the state, citing over 46,000 government jobs provided to youth in last two and half years.
The Agriculture Minister was participating at the 3rd Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) organised at S. Baldev Singh Government Senior Secondary School at Majatri in SAS Nagar on Tuesday.
S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, accompanied by District Education Officer Ms. Ginny Duggal, also engaged with school students and their parents to gather first-hand feedback on the facilities and education being provided at the school.
The Agriculture Minister further stated that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, has been making all out efforts to further upgrade the education system in the state. For the first time, the government has sent over 500 teachers to Singapore and Finland, and even to prestigious IIMs to upgrade their skills for delivering quality education to the students.
He also encouraged students to work harder to achieve their life goals, highlighting the significant opportunities available in Punjab. Additionally, he mentioned that Mega PTMs are a unique initiative of the CM Mann-led Punjab Government aimed at involving parents in the school education system to enhance educational standards and improve school infrastructure.
He also lauded the School Principal, Ms. Harminder Kaur, and her team for their hard work and dedication in preparing students for higher goals in life. S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian also took a tour of the school building and inspected the school’s infrastructure and cleanliness.
