CHANDIGARH: The Digital Media Association Punjab has strongly condemned the arrest of senior journalist Rajinder Singh Taggar by Punjab Police in an alleged fabricated case.
The Digital Media Association members demanded immediate release of Rajinder Singh Taggar who was yesterday taken into custody by the Mohali police without any evidence against him. The Association has described the action of police an attack on the freedom of press.
The Digital Media Association President Davinder Singh Darshi, Chief Patron Baljit Balli, Chairman Satinder Bains and other office bearers Senior Vice President H.S.Bawa, Vice president Mahavir Jain, General Secretary Davinder Singh Kohli, Finance Secretary Parminder Singh Jattpuri and joint secretary Prashant Sharma in a statement said that action against Rajinder Taggar was aimed to gag the press and outcome of personal grudges of SSP Mohali.
The Association has appealed to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to intervene and order immediate release of Rajinder Taggar who is doing his duty honestly and exposed misdeeds of previous governments and dishonest bureaucrats.
