According to first four phases, BJP is not crossing 400, they are not even crossing the minimum threshold: Bhagwant Mann
BJP has sold oil, railways, BHEL, airports, and LIC: Bhagwant Mann
Prime Minister Modi does not even want to talk to the farmers: Bhagwant Mann
In Punjab, 43,000 government jobs have been given, and temporary employees have been regularized: Dr. Sushil Gupta
Kurukshetra/Chandigarh, 19 May ( WISHAVWARTA)-On Saturday, Punjab’s Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann held a public meeting in Pundri, an assembly constituency under the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha. He also participated in mega roadshows in Guhla, Pehowa, and Radaur. He campaigned for Dr. Sushil Gupta, the candidate from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha under the India Alliance.
During this event, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress workers and supporters from all villages of the Pundri constituency in Kurukshetra Lok Sabha gathered. There was a massive crowd of supporters, and people welcomed Sardar Bhagwant Mann with showers of flowers along the entire route. Thousands of people pledged to ensure the victory of the India Alliance.
Addressing the people Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that this election is about saving our country, which stands at a dangerous crossroads. The country is at a point where it will either head towards dictatorship or have democratically elected leaders who work according to the people’s wishes. The country will either fall into the hands of a party that wants to abolish the Constitution or into the hands of parties that want the country to progress. Therefore, this is a fight to save democracy and the Constitution. BJP leaders say, “Give us more than 400 seats, and we will change the Constitution.” If the constitution written by Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is changed, there will be no elections in the country, and we will face a situation like Russia, where no one can vote against Putin.
He said, “BJP members are so blinded by arrogance that they don’t realize this country is not anyone’s personal property; it belongs to 140 crore people. Our ancestors sacrificed their lives to give us this country. Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Kartar Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Chandrashekhar Azad, and Ashfaqulla Khan fought for our freedom. Haryana and Punjab people had to pay a high price for independence. Ten lakh people, including our uncles, aunts, grandfathers, and grandmothers, were killed during the partition. That is why even today, the youth of Haryana and Punjab stand firm at the borders to protect this freedom.”
He said, “BJP should not be under the illusion that they can break the party by imprisoning Arvind Kejriwal or silence a party by freezing its bank accounts. ‘We are not the leaves that will fall off the branch, tell the storms to stay in their place.’ Voting is on 25 May in Delhi and Haryana, and the slogan ’25 May, BJP Gone’ that is trending in Delhi should also be adopted in Haryana. After the first four phases, BJP has realized that they are not crossing 400 seats, nor are they even staying afloat. When PM Modi realized he was losing, he started giving threatening speeches.”
He said, “I have been the Chief Minister in Punjab for two and a quarter years, and Arvind Kejriwal has been the Chief Minister in Delhi for eight years. We are asking for votes based on our work. We do politics of deeds, not names. In just two and a quarter years, I have provided 43,000 government jobs without anyone having to pay a single rupee as a bribe. Today, 90% of homes in Punjab have zero electricity bills. A boy who works at our house received a bill of -40 rupees for his home in the village. This shows that if intentions are clear, situations can change. BJP has sold oil, railways, BHEL, airports, and LIC. But for the first time in the country’s history, the Punjab government has bought a 540 MW thermal plant. Even the electricity for fields in Punjab is free.”
Mann said that today it is the compulsion of the people to go to private hospitals and private schools. But he wants to make government schools and hospitals so good that it is no more a compulsion but a choice between government and private institutes.
He said, “We are people connected to the ground; we know what difficulties are. Those born with a silver spoon have no idea. The Akali Dal used to say they would rule Punjab for 25 years, but today they don’t even have 25 seats, only two. In a democracy, the people can elevate anyone to the highest position or bring them down to the lowest. The farmers of Haryana and Punjab feed the nation. But when farmers want to go to Delhi, their paths are spiked. Prime Minister Modi doesn’t even talk to the farmers. If inflation is rising, why aren’t crop prices increasing?”
He said, “BJP claims they reduced the price of gas cylinders by 100 rupees, but who made it 1100 rupees in the first place? Therefore, even if the India Alliance button is fifth on the ballot box, it must come first. This time, we must unite to save the country. We need to recognize those who are looting the country. In Punjab, BJP has only two seats, and they can come to the Assembly on a scooter. This time, the people of Haryana must also bring about change. It is essential to defeat those who are selling the country and posing a threat to democracy. If the country survives, then parties and democracy will survive. Therefore, we must ensure Dr. Sushil Gupta wins from Kurukshetra and support India Alliance candidates wherever they are contesting in the country.”
