Punjab News: Health Minister Launches Tree Plantation Drive at AIMS Mohali
Urges the community to actively participate in such initiatives and contribute towards a greener and healthier Punjab
SAS Nagar, August 22, 2024 (Satish Kumar Puppy):- In consonance with the commitment of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to make the state greener and healthier, the Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research Minister, Dr Balbir Singh started a tree plantation drive at AIMS (Dr B R Ambedkar Institute of Medical Science) Mohali, SAS Nagar, today.
Planting saplings of Harshingar (Night-flowering Jasmine) and Neem are known for their medicinal properties and environmental benefits, Dr Balbir Singh said that the initiative aims to contribute to environmental sustainability and promote green cover in the region. He said that these trees not only enhance the aesthetic value of the area but also help in improving air quality and supporting biodiversity.
Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh emphasized the importance of tree plantation in combating climate change and maintaining ecological balance. He urged the community to actively participate in such initiatives and contribute towards a greener and healthier Punjab.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the staff of AIMS Mohali, and District Hospital Mohali making it a resounding success. The plantation drive is part of a broader environmental campaign to increase the green cover across the district.
