Jalandhar/Chandigarh, June 29 (WISHAVWARTA):- AAP leaders held a big protest in Jalandhar against the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the CBI. AAP leaders called Kejriwal’s arrest dictatorship of the Modi government and said that the BJP is trying to trap Kejriwal by misusing the ED and CBI.
During the protest, AAP leaders raised slogans against the BJP government at the center and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dozens of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, ministers, MPs, party officials, chairmen and thousands of leaders and workers from across the state participated in the protest. The AAP candidate for Jalandhar West Assembly by-election Mohinder Bhagat also participated in the protest.
*Aam Aadmi Party Punjab’s working president Principal Budh Ram attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party* and said that BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have only one motive that is to finish the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal by any means. BJP is afraid of Arvind Kejriwal’s honest politics. That is why CBI and ED filed false cases against Arvind Kejriwal and deliberately put him in jail.
*AAP minister Dr. Balbir Singh warned the Modi government and said that Arvind Kejriwal should be released immediately or else this movement will intensify.* He said that on one hand BJP is keeping a sitting Chief Minister in jail without any evidence and any money trail, while on the other hand, a case was registered against Karnataka’s former BJP Chief Minister VS Yeddyurappa under POCSO Act in the case of molestation of a minor girl but he was given bail because he belonged to their own party.
In fact, the BJP is scared of the works of the AAP government in Delhi and Punjab. That is why it is deliberately trying to implicate AAP leaders in false cases. He said that BJP has inducted all the corrupt leaders of the country into its party and has given them important positions like Chief Ministers, Ministers and Deputy Chief Minister. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Minister Chhagan Bhujbal are examples of this.
*AAP MP from Sangrur Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that Arvind Kejriwal was about to get bail from the Supreme Court, that is why the CBI deliberately arrested him.* He said that even a year ago, the CBI had questioned and investigated Arvind Kejriwal but it did not find anything. He said that in the case of Arvind Kejriwal, this is the first time in the country that the investigating agency reached the High Court without getting the bail copy from the lower court.
Meet Hayer said that assembly elections are going to be held in Delhi after six months. The BJP has not been able to defeat Arvind Kejriwal there till date. The people of Delhi gave a historic majority and made Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister twice. Therefore, now the BJP is trying to win the Delhi elections through ED and CBI. He said that 50 years ago, a declared emergency was imposed in the country, but for the last 10 years the BJP government has been imposing an undeclared emergency in the country.
*Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian said that CBI’s arrest clearly shows that BJP deliberately wants to implicate Arvind Kejriwal in false cases* He said that the revolutionary work done by Arvind Kejriwal government in the field of education and health in Delhi had given BJP sleepless nights, that is why BJP has put Delhi’s Education Minister Manish Sisodia, Health Minister Satyendra Jain and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in jail by implicating them in false cases. He said that the BJP can do anything but it cannot stop Arvind Kejriwal.
*Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the way Delhi’s current Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been kept in jail has never happened before in the history of the country* He said that Modi government has descended into Hitlerism and hooliganism. We will fight against Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest from the streets to the Parliament. He said that we will fight this battle on every front and will win. Dhaliwal said that BJP has the illusion that it will finish Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party, but Arvind Kejriwal is a thought and BJP can never finish him or our party.
*Minister Lalchand Kataruchak said that in the last two years ED and CBI did not find a single penny from AAP leaders.* The entire case is false and fake. The Modi government is harassing AAP leaders through ED and CBI. The investigating agencies do not have any evidence against anyone. He said that CBI’s action against Arvind Kejriwal is completely illegal and unconstitutional. He should be released as soon as possible.
*Aam Aadmi Party Punjab General Secretary and Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat* strongly condemned the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal by the CBI and said that the ED and CBI have no evidence against Arvind Kejriwal. He has been deliberately kept in jail under a conspiracy. This is the height of dictatorship. He said that the Modi government is murdering democracy by misusing the ED and CBI. We are standing firmly against this dictatorship and will fight against it with full force.
*AAP leaders also protested in Chandigarh, police detained protesters, stopped them from going to the BJP office*
In Chandigarh too, Aam Aadmi Party leaders protested against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal by the CBI. AAP leaders and workers who were going to the BJP office for the protest were stopped by the Chandigarh Police and taken into custody.
Aam Aadmi Party Chandigarh unit tweeted and criticized the BJP central government for this and said that the Modi government is misusing the ED and CBI to keep Arvind Kejriwal in jail, but all the conspiracies of the BJP will fail and truth will prevail.
