Hariyali Teej Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm and Traditional Fervour at BJP Chandigarh Pradesh Office ‘Kamalam’
Chandigarh, August 17 (WISHAVWARTA) Hariyali Teej was celebrated with great enthusiasm, joy and traditional fervour at the Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh Pradesh office ‘Kamalam’, Sector 33. The programme was organised under the leadership of BJP Chandigarh Pradesh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra. A large number of women from different sectors of Chandigarh participated enthusiastically, filling the venue with the festive spirit, colours and joy of Teej.
Sukhi Brar, Chairperson of the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Jasmine Sandhawalia, Vice President, Punjab BJP, was also present on the occasion. Both the guests shared the festive spirit with the women participants and appreciated the initiative aimed at preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural traditions.
The successful organisation of the programme was supported by Sanjay Puri, Office Secretary and Programme Coordinator; Sonam Verma, Pradesh President, Mahila Morcha and Co-Coordinator; Hema Sharma, General Secretary, Mahila Morcha; Ruby Gupta, Pradesh Secretary; Sonia Duggal; and Richa Verma, Mandal President.
On the occasion of Hariyali Teej, women participated in the programme dressed in traditional attire. Traditional Teej songs, cultural presentations, swings and various entertaining activities added to the attraction of the celebrations. The women enthusiastically sang traditional folk songs and enjoyed the customs and festivities associated with Teej.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP Chandigarh Pradesh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra said that festivals hold a special place in Indian culture and traditions. Hariyali Teej is not merely a festival but also a symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage, family values and social harmony. Such celebrations provide an opportunity to pass our traditions on to the younger generation while strengthening the bonds of mutual affection and togetherness in society.
He said that BJP Chandigarh Pradesh has consistently encouraged social and cultural programmes that bring different sections of society together. The enthusiastic participation of women in such a large number reflects the strong connection of society with Indian culture and traditions.
Women present at the programme also appreciated the initiative and said that such cultural celebrations provide an opportunity to remain connected with traditional values while promoting interaction, friendship and social harmony.
