Punjab BJP Holds Grand Tiranga Yatra in Ropar Under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign

Chandigarh / Ropar, August 10 (WISHAVWARTA);- In the run-up to India’s 80th Independence Day, Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party today organised a grand Tiranga Yatra in Ropar under the leadership of State President Kewal Singh Dhillon as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Tiranga Yatra passed through various parts of the city. During the yatra, BJP leaders and workers carried the Tricolour in their hands and conveyed the message of patriotism and national unity.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhillon said that this was not a political programme, but a Tiranga Yatra organised to honour the National Flag, the symbol of the honour, dignity and pride of the country.
He said that, following the call given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the spirit of patriotism is being further strengthened across the country under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. He appealed to the people of Punjab to proudly hoist the Tricolour at their homes, shops and institutions from August 9 to August 14 and celebrate Independence Day on August 15 with full enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
Dhillon said that the Tricolour is not merely a piece of cloth, but a symbol of the sacrifices of our martyrs, the valour of our brave soldiers, and the freedom, unity and integrity of crores of Indians. Countless bravehearts of the country have sacrificed their lives for the honour of this flag.
He said that the history of Punjab is replete with countless sacrifices made for the freedom of the country and the defence of the nation. From the freedom struggle to guarding the nation’s borders, Punjabis have always played a leading role. The land of Punjab has given the nation numerous great heroes, including Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
He said that the Tiranga Yatra taken out from the historic land of Ropar was not merely aimed at hoisting the Tricolour, but at instilling a spirit of patriotism among the younger generation, strengthening national unity and remembering the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle.
He said that the Tricolour is a symbol of our identity, our pride and the unity and integrity of our nation, and respecting it is the duty of every Indian.
On the occasion, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Parminder Singh Brar, Ajay Veer Singh Lalpura, along with a large number of BJP leaders and workers, were present.
