Chandigarh, June 23 (WISHAVWARTA);- Chief Electoral Officer Punjab, Mrs. Anindita Mitra, today held a meeting with the representatives of the recognized political parties of Punjab regarding Distribution, filling and collection of enumeration forms during house-to-house visits of BLO starting June 25, 2026, under Special Intensive Revision(SIR).
During the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab said that as per the program announced by the Election Commission of India, the house-to-house enumeration work will start in the state from 25th June 2026 and will continue till 24th July 2026. she said that in this special in-depth exercise, 24453 BLOs will reach out to 2 crore 14 lakh 61 thousand 43 voters of the state from 25th June 2026 to 24th July 2026.
The work of rationalization of polling stations will be done till 24th July 2026, while the draft of voter lists will be published on 3rd August 2026.
Objections and claims regarding voter lists can be submitted from 03-08-2026 to 02-09-2026. The disposal of objections and claims will go on from 03-08-2026 to 28-09-2026.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that the final voter list will be published on 01-10-2026.
During the meeting, she informed the representatives of the recognized political parties of the state of Punjab that 86.02 percent of the voters have been mapped in the state. The list of unmapped voters was shared with the representatives of political parties. Mrs. Mitra appealed to the political parties to actively participate in the SIR and extend maximum cooperation to the election staff for the successful implementation of the SIR, and said that the election staff should be helped in mapping these unmapped voters.
On this occasion, the concerns of the representatives of the political parties regarding the SIR process were also addressed.
During the meeting, Additional CEO Mr. Amandeep Garg, Joint CEO Mrs. Navneet Kaur Bal, representatives from the recognized parties, Ferry Soft from Aam Aadmi Party, Jaswant Rai and Harbhajan Singh from Bahujan Samaj Party, Parampal Kaur from Bharatiya Janata Party, Hardeep Singh Kingra and Happy Khera from Congress Party, Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kler and Nachhattar Singh Gill from Shiromani Akali Dal were present.
