MLA Kulwant Singh distributes cheques worth Rs 1.88 crore to Panchayats
Rs 62 lakh assistance for house repair to 31 needy families

SAS Nagar, May 6 (WISHAVWARTA);- Under the Chief Minister Rangla Punjab campaign, MLA Kulwant Singh distributed cheques worth Rs 1.88 crore to various village panchayats in the Mohali constituency to accelerate development works.
Kulwant Singh informed that the funds will be utilized for installation of street lights, repair of streets and drains, construction and upgradation of community centres, anganwadis, school rooms, playgrounds, dharamshalas, and drainage of storm water.
Additionally, works such as road paving and installation of convex mirrors for traffic safety are also included.
On this occasion, financial assistance of Rs 62 lakh was also provided to 31 needy families for repair and reconstruction of their houses, with each family receiving Rs 2 lakh.
Kulwant Singh said that under the Rangla Punjab campaign, around Rs 2.5 crore had already been released earlier, and more funds will be allocated in the coming days to ensure holistic development of villages.
He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party Government focuses on implementing schemes on the ground rather than merely making announcements, unlike previous governments.
Responding to a media query, the MLA said that people have rejected negative politics and always support a Government and representatives who work for them and deliver promises.
He further stated that monetary assistance for the construction of around 200 houses has already been provided and the effort will continue in the future. He expressed confidence that the villages of the Mohali constituency will soon witness a visible transformation.
Commenting on the Chief Minister’s ‘Lok Milni’ held at Saneta, he said that people participated voluntarily in large numbers and the opposition’s criticism is baseless.
He also asserted that strict action will be taken against anti-social elements attempting to disturb peace or hurt religious sentiments in Punjab.
