Brigadier Arun Bhardawaj visits NCC camp

Group Commander Brig Arun Bhardwaj, Group Commander of Jalandhar Group, visited the Yuva Aapta Mitra Scheme (YAMS) camp at NCC Training Academy, Rupnagar on 02 Feb 2026. The camp, being conducted from 29 Jan to 07 Feb 2026, aims to train 300 NCC cadets in disaster management and response.
During his visit, Brig Bhardwaj interacted with the cadets and took a keen interest in their training. A 15-member team from MGSIPA, Chandigarh, is leading the training program, focusing on equipping cadets with essential skills in disaster response and management. Additionally, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) also participated, providing valuable insights into their role and expectations from the cadets.
The visit highlights the importance of such training programs in preparing NCC cadets for disaster situations, enabling them to serve as first responders and support local authorities effectively.
As the NCC cadets undergo rigorous training at the Yuva Aapta Mitra Scheme camp, they are not only enhancing their skills but also working towards nation building. By equipping themselves with disaster response capabilities, these young leaders are poised to play a vital role in creating a safer and more resilient India, embodying the NCC motto of ‘Unity and Discipline’.
