SLAMS TRADITIONAL POLITICAL LEADERS FOR IGNORING THE STATE FOR THEIR VESTED INTERESTS
ASSERTS THAT STATE GOVERNMENT GIVING DUE ATTENTION TO HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF PUNJAB

Chandigarh, August 20 (WISHAVWARTA):- Continuing ‘Mission Rozgar’ to illuminate the lives of Punjabis, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday set a new milestone by giving more than 55,000 jobs to the youth of the state during the first three years of its regime.

“The previous governments gave miniscule number of jobs to the youth at the fag end of their tenure but ever since my first day in office in office I have made sure that the deserving youth get the jobs due to which 55,000 of them have got government jobs”, said the Chief Minister.

Addressing the gathering during a function to hand over appointment letters to the newly appointed youth, the Chief Minister said that today 271 youth have joined the family of Punjab Government and now they will become an active partner in social and economic progress of the state. He said that this is not any favor for the youth of the state but they deserved these jobs due to their caliber but none of the previous governments ever bothered about them. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that these youth have got jobs completely on the basis of merit.

The Chief Minister exhorted the newly recruited youth to become integral part of the government adding that now should serve the people with missionary zeal. Bhagwant Singh Mann hoped that the new recruits will use their pen for helping the needy and underprivileged sections of society. He said that the newly recruited youth should ensure maximum welfare of the public so that every section of society is benefited from it.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that the state government has till now given more than 55,000 government jobs to the youth adding that all the recruitments have been made completely on merit. He said that the recruitments have been done after adopting a complete transparent process and the youths have been given jobs after clearing the exams in cut throat competition. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the sole agenda of his government from day one has been to empower the youth by giving government jobs to them.

Describing it as a historical juncture, the Chief Minister envisioned that these jobs will transform the destiny of youth. He said that this venue has witnessed a number of such events in which youth have got jobs in various government departments. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this reflects the commitment of the state government to ensure the well being of youth and opening new avenues of employment for them.

Slamming the traditional political parties, the Chief Minister said that the previous governments never paid heed towards imparting quality education to the students. He said that the sons and daughters of big leaders used to study in convent schools at hills due to which the government schools were never their thrust areas. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that instead of imparting education, the government schools were merely mid day meal centres during the previous regimes.

In stark comparison to it, the Chief Minister said that to provide quality education, government schools are now being upgraded to Schools of Eminence and it is a proud moment that Punjab has ranked first in the National Achievement Survey conducted by the Government of India, surpassing even Kerala. He said that 848 government school students have qualified for the NEET exam, 265 students cleared JEE Mains, and 45 cleared JEE Advanced exam. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no freebee or concession cards can eliminate poverty or other social maladies in the state but education is the key that can pull people out of this vicious circle by raising their standard of living.

The Chief Minister said that they never aspired to come in the field of politics but the mercilessly plundering of the state and its people by the previous regimes forced them to join this field. He said that these opportunist and greedy leaders had ignored the state for their own vested interests due to which people had ousted them and paved the way for new people to come and join politics. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no they are working tirelessly for the development of the state and prosperity of its people adding that no stone is being left unturned for it.

The Chief Minister said that contrary to earlier times when the leaders of the state used to jeopardize the interests of Punjab, the state government today is focusing on overall growth and prosperity of the state. He said that the earlier leaders were skeptical of meeting the people whereas the state government today is working solely on the basis of their feedback. Bhagwant Singh Mann every effort will be made to safeguard the interests of the state and its people by making them an active partner in social economic development of the state.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab is witnessing a new era of unprecedented development as the state government has made strenuous efforts to give major push to growth and progress of Punjab. He said that all the sectors whether education, health, power, employment and others have observed unparalleled development during the last three years. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is because the intent and will of the state government is clear to serve the people of Punjab with dedication, commitment and integrity.

On the occasion Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Dr. Ravjot Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Tejveer Singh, Secretary Education Anindita Mitra and others were also present.
