First randomization of counting staff done in the presence of political representatives
A total of 189 Counting Personnel were Selected by the Software to be part of Counting staff
SAS Nagar, May 8, 2024: The first randomization of the counting staff to be deployed for the counting of votes during the Lok Sabha elections-2024 was done through the software approved by the Election Commission under the supervision of the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mrs Asshika Jain and in the presence of representatives of political parties.
Divulging the details, she said that each counting hall staff would be allocated 14 tables meant for one assembly segment as part of the concerned parliamentary constituency. Each team comprises three members including a counting assistant, a counting supervisor and a micro observer, would handle the operation of counting at every table. Besides, each constituency is to have 50 per cent extra counting staff.
Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Viraj S Tidke added that for SAS Nagar and Kharar, assembly segments of Anandpur Sahib parliamentary constituency, the counting centres have been set up at Government Polytechnic Khooni Majra while for Derabassi, an assembly segment of Patiala at Reading Hall, Punjabi University, Patiala.
The training to the counting staff will be imparted by the respective AROs at Government Polytechnic College, Khooni Majra, Shivalik Public School, Phase 6, Mohali and Government College Derabassi.
